Is the plugin really free?

Yes. EcomSec JTL Security Scan is a free community licence. The EcomSec EULA for free licences applies: no entitlement to support or updates, liability limited to intent and gross negligence.

Is my shop data transmitted to EcomSec?

No. The scan runs entirely locally on your server. Only your shop domain and the plugin version number are transmitted for licence verification — no shop content, no customer data.

Can the scan slow down or crash my shop?

The scan is optimised for shared hosting and limited by a staggered time budget. It runs in the background and has no impact on your customers' shopping experience.

The scan reports a modified file — has my shop been hacked?

Not necessarily. Modified core files can also result from legitimate template customisations or manual configuration changes. Review the finding manually: if you do not recognise the change or did not make it yourself, contact EcomSec Support.

How often should I run the scan?

We recommend a weekly routine scan as well as a scan after every plugin update or JTL-Shop version upgrade.

Does the plugin support Shopware?

No. The plugin is developed exclusively for JTL-Shop 5. For Shopware solutions, please contact EcomSec directly.
